FERGUSON ROAD - CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA
Ferguson Road is located on an 11-acre parcel of land on James Island along Ferguson Road and is the site of one of Charleston's oldest and largest living trees, commonly known as the "Century Oak". The owner is a family that has much heritage and history on James Island and desired to develop a community that would not only be sensitive to surrounding communities, but they would actually live on.
Challenges in site development of the 61-unit community included an acute-angled site and neccessity to preserve all 74 trees with trunks 24" or larger on the site. The architectural language of townhouses and patio homes possess is a traditional Charleston look.
