LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. The US Green Building Council formed the LEED Pilot Project in 1993 as a system to define and measure "green buildings". The LEED system evaluates environmental performance from a whole building perspective over a building's life cycle.
A building designed to LEED standards provides a healthier indoor environment for its occupants and has a decreased impact on its surrounding community. Responsible construction practices, recycled and rapidly renewable materials, and improved energy efficiency are all aspects of the LEED system that ultimately provices a higher-quality building.
BBStrahan Architect believes that design and construction with LEED standards as a guideline will produce the best possible product.
