This contemporary addition is designed to be both sustainable and ecologically friendly. The existing house is a 2,254 sf 1970s ranch house on a 1-acre wooded, sloping lot and is oriented north/south with a lake to the north. The addition is approximately 1,000 of heated space with a new master bedroom suite, new 2-car garage, and renovation of existing interior spaces. Wrapping cantilevered decks preserve the natural site by minimizing the building footprint. Recycled materials are implemented into the new addition, and a terraced metal roof allows for natural daylight to reach internal portions of the house so as to not use extra electricity for lighting.
